After channeling my energy through the NaNoWriMo grinder this month, I’ve come out with a fairly good first draft to add to my Antediluvian Adventures series. The novel, The Valekan Migration, is the fourth in the series and brings some closure to Maralin’s story, and Raoli’s, since he makes an appearance in this novel too. I’m still working on the ending. Currently I’m in Chapter 21, my characters are working as healers in Valeka during a battle, and the word count stands at 53405.

I’ve been doing the Writing Festival Friday postings for eight weeks now, and have taken time to evaluate what I’m doing here with this blog event project. First let me say the best part of all this has been in doing the interviews and meeting writers who are new to me. I’ve very much enjoyed my interviews with Donna Alice Patton, Mel Trent, Annie Duguid, and Jennifer Gladen. They’ve been the high point of my blogging during the last two months.

Now, for what I haven’t liked about Writing Festival Friday. The promotion. I am normally a shy and reclusive kind of person. My online presence with this and other blogs makes that look unlikely, but it is true. I’m really uncomfortable with going on mailing lists and message boards to announce a new issue of my blog event. Even though I think this has been a great event, I don’t like doing that.

So I’ve decided to change things. This will be the last issue of Writing Festival Friday – even though I’ve had a blast doing it. But I’m going to keep on interviewing writers, because I enjoy doing it so much. I still have three Writing Festival Friday interviews to do, and then I’ll be choosing people to interview, not because they’ve signed on here, but because I’d like to get to know them better.

I’m really looking forward to it, and I hope you are too. Of course, people who comment on my blog are still more likely to be asked for an interview – because they make themselves known to me.
