This was originally a Live Journal posting. I’ve decided to close that account and move my posts to this blog.
I’m planning to enroll in our local community college for the spring semester.
I already have two associates degrees so it isn’t a career move… but more of a way to keep busy and learn something new while my boyfriend is away working as a long-haul truck driver.
I’d like to take English 1C, but will have to get copies of my transcripts for that.
I’m also looking at a series of half-unit business classes: Stress Management, Conflict Management, Ethics and Values, Time Management, and Decision Making/Problem Solving.
The only other class in the list I might like to participate in right now is Digital Art. Unfortunately it uses Photoshop and my computer has Paint Shop Pro. I’d have to do the classwork down at the local computer center. But I’m considering it.
There’s also an interesting series of classes for people who will be teaching online. I’ve thought of setting up classes online at my writing website. I have the classroom software, but haven’t written the material yet.
Another alternative for me this spring is to enroll in a few classes through Eclectic Academy. I’m looking at the new grant writing class, and at a class on Microsoft’s Excel.
