Inspired by my Silverweb writing friend, Gisele, and by JulieZS at Try Goal Checking: Create A Connection, I’m re-evaluating my list of goals for 2007 and coming up with a plan for implementing them in July.
My original list of goals for 2007 has mainly writing goals on it – and I don’t think I’ve achieved any of them! Now that is scary. It is also excessively long and not possible to get done, so at this point I want to revise it.
1. The main thing I want to do is to finish editing my first novel The Scribe of Irohila for the fourth time. I stalled after chapter 13 and I have 7 more chapters to edit. At the same time I’m writing a summary of each chapter. SEVEN MORE CHAPTERS. That’s all. So I must get started. My goal for July is to finish editing this novel.
2. I have a collection of blogs I’m working on. I’ve made a plan for each and I’m trying to get in tune with that blogging schedule. My goal is to keep writing daily at Country Kitchen Pantry where I write about cooking, recipes, memories, herbs, essential oils, and things I’m grateful for.
3. I also want to write an article about writing or a book review twice monthly for my writing site, Linda Jo Martin: Perspectives On Writing. I just posted a book review there and want to have my next article out on July 15.
4. The rest is negotiable. I don’t want to push myself too hard. I have other goals, but none I want to really hold myself to right now. If I can get these three things done, it will be great.
