I’m attending the Muse Conference this year. Last year I was way too confused about how it worked to be able to participate. I’m so glad Lea decided to use a message board this year for the workshops. Everything is much easier to follow and learn from.
Still I get indications of information overload. I’m totally incapable of finding time to participate in all the workshops I wanted to be in, but I’m dropping in on them and leaving messages as time allows. Fortunately Lea plans to leave the forum up for a while after the conference, and to make an e-book out of all the handouts.
To add to the week’s feeling of overwhelming possibilities, my 18-year-old daughter just arrived back in my front yard with her boyfriend after being homeless in Southern California since last May. How will I participate in a conference while having a guest? Naturally my plan is to demand time for my writing education; the Muse Conference happens only once each year, and I’m not going to miss the chats I signed up for if there’s an opportunity to attend them.
It is Wednesday already – the third day of the conference, and I’ve been exhausted. I’m glad I got a full night’s sleep last night.
