March Booktube adventures! Now is the time to start planning for March 2020 reading. Booktubers often choose their literature by participating in readathons. This is a short list of Booktube readathons for March 2020. It is not a comprehensive list, meaning: there are other readathons that aren’t listed here for various reasons. These are the readathons I’m most likely to participate in.
Six readathons are listed. If you want to find other March 2020 Booktube readathons, go to the YouTube search engine, enter “readathon announcement,” and filter for only one month. A lot of videos will appear that announce readathons, both these, and the ones I didn’t list.

1. Read five books.
2. Read a book with a celebration.
3. Read the fifth book in a series.
4. Read a book with five or more words in the title.
5. Read a book with a page count divisible by five.
6. Read a book with the number five or fifth in the title.
7. Read a book first published in a year divisible by five.
8. Read a book first published in March or May of any year.
9. Read a book with something made of wood on the cover.
Book Lady’s notes on March Mystery Madness:
I like mysteries so I’ll try to participate in this readathon.
Run Away, by Harlan Coben
This book fits the prompt for a book published in March or May. It was published on March 19, 2019.
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Robert Louis Stevenson
This is good for prompt #4 – a book with five or more words in the title – and it is a classic book I’ve never read before. I just got a free (for Prime members) Kindle copy from Amazon.
The Five: The Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper, by Hallie Rubenhold
Prompt #6 – a book with five in the title… and I don’t know that this is classified a mystery, but definitely, a crime book, and it is nonfiction. It demystifies the lives of the five known victims.
Long Bright River, by Liz Moore
This works for a book first published in a year divisible by five – it was published January 7, 2020.
A Timeless Celebration, by Dianne Ascroft
After a considerably long search I finally found a mystery with a celebration. This may be the first “cozy mystery” I’ve ever read. Okay, I’m game. Impress me.
There’s cats. You can’t go wrong with cats.

Book Lady’s notes on Middle Grade March:
This readathon requires only ONE book to be read – the rest is optional. I probably have a book here that fits. More later.

5. Inspector Lestrade – Read a book involving law enforcement
6. Nothing New Under the Sun – Read a book that is directly inspired by Sherlock Holmes
Book Lady’s notes on the Sherlock-A-Thon:
I might participate partially in this readathon, especially if my already planned-for novels fit any of these classifications. I will let you know later, after I do some book analysis.
Little Darlings, by Melanie Golding
This book starts with an exciting event – childbirth! On my birthday! It is also a book of the month for the For Love of a Book Goodreads group.
The Talented Mr. Ripley, by Patricia Highsmith
A sociopath book for prompt #3. It is also a book of the month for the For Love of a Book Goodreads group.
Shutter Island, by Dennis Lehane
This is for prompt #5 – as there’s a US Marshall… it involves law enforcement. It is also a book of the month for the For Love of a Book Goodreads group.
The Beekeeper’s Apprentice, by Laurie R. King
I’d really like to read this novel for prompt #6.

March 1-11, 2020
What to read:
1. Continue a series you started last year.
2. Read a sequel to a book you read 3 or more years ago.
3. Complete a series.
4. Catch up on a series in progress.
Book Lady’s notes on the Sequelathon:
1. Continue a series – how about the second book in the Crazy Rich Asians series? Unfortunately, I think I left that book in North Idaho and I won’t be going back there right away.
2. Read a sequel to a book you read 3 or more years ago – I might have one more book to read in the Uglies series.
3. Complete a series – possibly, if I read the last Uglies novel.
4. Catch up on a series in progress – I could read Cress, which is the third novel in The Lunar Chronicles.
In general, I’ve avoided reading most series books for years now, so I don’t have much to choose from.

Lonesome Dove, by Larry McMurtry
I’ll be participating because I’d already planned to read this weighty novel with a Goodreads group: Tackling the Pulitzer Prize Winners! It also fits a 2020 PopSugar Reading Challenge prompt, #37, a Western. It is 864 pages long, and qualifies.

Book Lady’s notes on the Spring Into Reading-A-Thon:
I really doubt I’ll be able to participate in this one – but only because I feel my reading time is all booked up already! I also don’t understand why this readathon is scheduled for only ten days instead of giving us the entire month to read seven books. I like to read but I need to do other things too – and I’m not a fast reader.
