February is one of my favorite months of the year, but not because it is short. On February 14 I renew my annual subscription to Audible, for 24 audiobooks. (A Valentine Day’s gift to myself.) Also my mom and brother were born in this month on the same day (years apart of course.) February also brings us closer to the end of winter. It is a great month!

Finished Reading in FEBRUARY
NOTHING YET
Reading Intentions

☆ Classic Fiction: The Hunchback of Notre Dame, by Victor Hugo
I liked Les Miserables so much I decided to read another Victor Hugo novel. I expect to have a buddy read partner for this during February.

★ Classic Fiction: Rob Roy, by Sir Walter Scott
I picked this up to pass the time and now I’m hooked on it. Must.Read.More. I’m hoping to learn a bit about Scottish history. I have a lot of other classics to read this month and this one, sadly, is not the top priority. I probably won’t finish it this month.

★ Christian Classic: Absolute Surrender, by Andrew Murray
I’m reading this with the Sisters In Christ Reading Group (at Goodreads).

★ Christian Fiction: Whose Waves These Are, by Amanda Dykes
I’m doing a “Roam and Read” challenge this year. I’m going to be reading all Christy Award winning books and traveling from the USA East Coast to the West, literarily-speaking. This book is set in Maine. The Christy Award is for outstanding Christian fiction.

☆ The Greater Journey: The Greater Journey, by David McCullough
This is for my David McCullough Readalong.

★ Juvenile: Everything on a Waffle, by Polly Horvath
This is my February book for my Newbery Medal List Reading Project.

☆ Juvenile Classic: The Enchanted Wood, by Enid Blyton
First published in 1939. I’m reading it to complete a list of 14 classic children’s novels.
Classical Education Study Projects

★ Classic Christian Memoir: Confessions, by Augustine
I’m reading this for my classic Christian literature studies and for the classical education project.

★ Classic Fiction: Don Quixote, by Miguel de Cervantes
This is a long-term study project. I’m reading it for classical education, and doing a deep-dive using a study guide and taking notes. I’ve made some progress in learning to take chapter notes and am enjoying the story. This is quite a long book (800 pages) but I expect I’ll get through it this time, eventually. I’m not hurrying through it. I read only two chapters daily, at most.

★ Classic Fiction: The Three Musketeers, by Alexandre Dumas
I’m participating in a buddy read via Goodreads for this book in Jan/Feb ’26. It also qualifies as part of my classical education project. I read one chapter daily which is about all I can take of D’Artagnan!

★ Classic Nonficton: On Airs, Waters, and Places, by Hippocrates
For classical education.
Did Not Finish – aka: DNF
No DNF’s yet in February.
As of last month I no longer have a diary section at the end of my monthly book posts. I’m discontinuing it because I rarely use it. However, if I have anything more to say about anything, I’ll write it down here. It just won’t be in a diary-type format.
