March reading will be fun for me. I’m focusing on some long classic fiction right now. I look forward to many peaceful evenings with books.

Finished Reading in March

✓ Christian Fiction: The Promise of Jesse Woods, by Chris Fabry
I’m doing a “Read and Roam” challenge on Goodreads. I’ve chosen to do this with Christy Award winning books. They are all Christian fiction. So far I’ve read three books set in New England down to New York. This one is set in West Virginia. So, I’m roaming, in a literary way. Finished 3/30 – Review.

✓ Christian Fiction: All My Secrets, by Lynn Austin
Another great novel. I’ve never read a Lynn Austin novel I didn’t like. I should probably make more of an effort to read all of them. My review.

✓ Christian Fiction: While We’re Far Apart, by Lynn Austin
I loved this novel about people waiting for their loved ones to return during World War II. My review.

✓ Classic Fiction: The Hunchback of Notre Dame, by Victor Hugo
I liked Les Miserables so much I decided to read another Victor Hugo novel. I spent a lot of time reading this last month, but there’s still more to read. I’m a somewhat slow reader! UPDATE: Finished this mid-month and reviewed it here. Great novel.
Reading Intentions

★ Christian Classic: Absolute Surrender, by Andrew Murray
I’m reading this with the Sisters In Christ Reading Group (at Goodreads).

★ Juvenile: Everything on a Waffle, by Polly Horvath
This is my February book for my Newbery Medal List Reading Project, but I didn’t finish reading it in February. Maybe this month!

☆ Juvenile Classic: The Enchanted Wood, by Enid Blyton
First published in 1939. I’m reading it to complete a list of 14 classic children’s novels.
Classical Education Study Projects

★ Classic Christian Memoir: Confessions, by Augustine
I’m reading this for my classic Christian literature studies and for the classical education project.

★ Classic Fiction: Don Quixote, by Miguel de Cervantes
This is a long-term study project. I’m reading it for classical education, and doing a deep-dive using a study guide and taking notes. I’ve made some progress in learning to take chapter notes and am enjoying the story. This is quite a long book (800 pages) but I expect I’ll get through it this time, eventually. I’m not hurrying through it. I read only two chapters daily, at most.

★ Classic Fiction: The Three Musketeers, by Alexandre Dumas
This qualifies as part of my classical education project. I read one chapter daily which is about all I can take of D’Artagnan!

★ Classic Nonficton: On Airs, Waters, and Places, by Hippocrates
For classical education.
Did Not Finish – aka: DNF
No DNF’s yet.
As of January I no longer have a diary section at the end of my monthly book posts. I’m discontinuing it because I rarely use it. However, if I have anything more to say about anything, I’ll write it down here. It just won’t be in a diary-type format.
Last month I participated in a Creative Awakening Challenge wherein we spent twenty minutes daily making fast art. All my art efforts for that project are on my Instagram account, art_in_the_camp. We have a five day workshop coming up this month as well.
