Creativity Recordings

January 8, 2012 By Linda Jo Martin Leave a Comment

In Mt. Shasta I picked up a Hemi-Sync CD – this one has a modern rendition of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons added to it. It is called Seasons at Roberts Mountain. I live with a Robert and he loves mountains, but that’s not why I got this CD. The CD is supposed to have the vibrations for enhanced learning and creativity. Creativity is the core of my spiritual practice, so anything that encourages my creativity is greatly appreciated. So far I’m enjoying the CD. It took me a few minutes to get used to the new age rendition of the Four Seasons. That’s one of my favorite classical pieces, and I’ve never heard it quite like this before. Modernistic, but pleasant. Relaxing. Happy-making. Serene and peaceful. Joyful… and endearing.

Maybe it is working – I’m not having any trouble writing this blog post. The words are tripping over each other in their rush to get out of me. This is my first Hemi-Sync recording, but I’ve used other similar CDs in the past – most notably Dr. Jeffrey Thompson’s Creative Mind System. That has taken me on many mystical journeys into the world of creativity and inspirations.

Creativity is my passion in life. I think it is the most natural thing for spiritual expression in human life. The Creator – the Source – was creative, and from what I’ve heard, we were created in His image. That makes us creative… and obviously, we certainly are just that. As creative beings we are doing the Will of the Creator to carry on this work in the human realm. I feel closer to God when I’m creating than at any other time. It is wonderful to sit and appreciate the beauty here on earth, but at some point we need to take that one step further by contributing to that beauty.

The philosophy of ascetics has always attracted me. In my creative pursuits I’ve wanted to promote beauty, and not just shock value. I recently read a book , a memoir about a pair of artists with severe personal issues, who managed to be highly creative but in a way that was shocking and not exactly beautiful to the average person. I am not one to be judgmental, but I wondered why not create beauty instead? Beauty elevates the souls of those who hear the music, watch the movie, see the photography or painting… and elevation of soul in conjunction with eternal spirit is what I aim for. Why else would we be here to create and share our creations?

Anyhow, Hemi-Sync! Awesome… very helpful. I recommend it.

About Me

Hi, I'm Linda, the Book Lady, and I'm excited about reading. A book is a gift you give yourself. It is so much fun to open that cover and discover what was hidden within. Books share the wisdom of the ages with us. Who wouldn't want that? So I read frequently and encourage reading. If you're a reader, let me know by becoming my friend on GoodReads.

My novel, River Girl, is about a girl living in the Klamath River Valley.

All about Linda's Life.
