What’s New: February & March, 2011

March 24, 2011 By Linda Jo Martin 2 Comments

I got so busy last month I never wrote a word in my blog about what I was doing! I fell behind in my work because of a computer problem – the fan went out and I had to order one from thousands of miles away. After that setback, at the end of the month I raced to get the March 2011 issue of Literature For Kids online – and also rushed to get my new business site online almost two weeks after my intended launch date.

My other huge project, which I’ve never really caught up with, is to catch up with reading messages on the message board of my family rights website. I was about 100 messages behind during the last week of February thanks to my computer fan failure. I’m now more than 100 message behind. Still struggling! Fortunately there are other activists and moderators helping out at the site now.

I thought maybe, just maybe… March would be better. But no… again I’m struggling and racing to try to accomplish just a few things. Now I’ve got the April issue of Literature For Kids in the works. The theme this time is “animals”. A varied bunch, including dogs, raccoons, and something that is very hard to explain!

I wanted to create a Fresh Store Builder store for one of my other sites, but haven’t been able to work on it at all this month. However I did manage to finish my most recent revision of a novel and send it out to an agent. Now I need to make time to find more agents to submit it to.

On March 1 I was elected to the board of directors of my local Chamber of Commerce, and was elected secretary. I haven’t been secretary for an organization for many years… so I just am feeling a bit lost over that now. So many things to do, and so little time to figure out how to do them!

Then, on March 11, my heart got wrenched badly by the Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster. Following that, I was very concered about radiation dangers from Fukushima Daiishi and none of my friends wanted to hear about it! So I quit trying to express my feelings to my friends, and instead started a new website called Meltdown News. That’s become a huge site already… I had so much to say about what was going on. There’s nothing quite like being emotionally upset to get motivated to write a lot! The site is getting hits and has quite a few pages already, including a daily news center.

After that I started another new site… that’s the story of my life. Plus I’ve been doing a lot of organizational work, trying to figure out 2010 taxes, and learning to use Peachtree accounting software! Lots to do! Always! One thing I wrote this month, just a few days ago, is a definition of consciousness. I considered that a huge challenge to myself, in expanding my own consciousness in order to write it. So far it is the only article on that site, but I intend to write a few more there over the course of the next few months.

Summer, I appreciate your concern! After reading your comment I decided to spend the afternoon with my dog at the river. We got some fresh air and sunshine, and exercise. Thanks for the suggestion!

whoa girl whoa. Easy. Catch your breath! And I thought I was bad with new articles and projects every day! Really, don’t forget to take a moment to take care of yourself and perhaps smell the roses. It will result in better work and more energy to do it. I can say this knowing that I’m as much a workaholic as you seem to be – and I’ve found a few minutes of relaxation improves my life far out of proportion to the time spent.

    Blessedbe
