The year is getting old and the weather is turning cold. I hope I can move into my new house before the trailer water hoses freeze again! Last winter was brutal.

Linda Book Lady’s October 2023 Reading Report & Diary
Last month ended with emergency surgery! On Thursday evening (9/28) I had a gall bladder attack that wouldn’t go away. I was up all night and the next day had surgery to remove the aforementioned unnecessary pain-causing organ. I spent the night in the hospital because I didn’t have anyone to drive me home – a 2 hour drive. Since it is a long drive there’s plenty of time to enjoy an audiobook while driving. I’m feeling fine and am at home now, relaxing with a book.

Linda Book Lady’s September 2023 Reading Report & Diary
I didn’t meet my reading goal of eight books last month. I finished six books. This month I must read more. August had many distractions. It was a hard month for me, for several reasons.

Linda Book Lady’s August 2023 Reading Report & Diary
Shed life is turning out fine. I go there daily. It is almost like leaving my home each morning for a job. All is well. I’m making videos again; trying for daily, for a while. Not sure how long that will last.

Happy me – I now have a shed. It was built in mid-June and the shed is my new art studio! I am slowly moving into it, which is more work than I expected. I’ll also make my videos there and store my books there. I already made one video in the shed using my cell phone, so I’m off to a good start, and today I started painting again with acrylic ink.

Saying More About My Life :: Heart :: Journaling June :: Boxes
How should I use this blog? Sometimes I want to say more than can be said in my monthly reading diary, so I’ve decided to resume writing more general articles here. After all, what is a blog if not a place to share our hearts with our readers?

The Bible tells us that waiting strengthens us. I’m grateful for that. I’m in need of strength. I’m still waiting for my shed to be built. Granted, I am the one who special-ordered the windows that haven’t arrived yet. I know the shed will be built when the time is right. Meanwhile, I can water the garden and read books.

Flowers! So exciting! After a heavy-snow winter these lovely pink flowers are making me very, very happy. They are blooming from a Redbud tree that burned in the forest fire, then was cut down two years ago.

Linda Book Lady’s April 2023 Reading Report & Diary
April hopefully will have less snow for me than March did. We just had ten inches of snow melt and now we’re heading into another week of probable snowstorms. I’m looking forward to more spring-like weather by the end of the month. Maybe rain. Speaking of rain, the words are raining… I’m writing again. I’ll tell more in the diary section of this page (below the book list.)

Linda Book Lady’s March 2023 Reading Report & Diary
Spring is coming, but as I write this there’s a foot of snow in my yard. I don’t mind the snow when my pipes don’t freeze and I have nowhere to go, and when the electricity doesn’t go out. It feels good to sit inside my warm trailer and read books or accomplish the 1001 other things that interfere with my reading time. (This could be good or bad; one can’t read 24/7.)

Linda Book Lady’s February 2023 Reading Report & Diary
I love February. It is the month my mother was born in. Also, every year on February 14 my annual Audible subscription renews – a Valentines Day gift to myself… audiobooks for a year! February also is a month of promise – the promise being that winter is nearly over.
